Johnson Elementary delivers a culturally responsive instructional model focused on supporting the whole child. We provide Transitional Native Language Instruction (TNLI) and prioritize a Social Emotional Learning Block with an emphasis on Project Based Learning. We offer a community school approach with a partnership with Boys and Girls Club which provides free onsite after-school care with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focus to all students K-5. We also are the home of the SW Denver Community Hub which provides services that support the social, physical and academic needs of adults in our community so all our learners can thrive and grow.

Unified Improvement Planning was introduced in 2009 to streamline improvement planning components of state and federal accountability requirements. Based on the Colorado Achievement Plan for Kids (SB212-08), the primary purpose of improvement planning is to align efforts to: Ensure all students exit the K-12 education system ready for post-secondary education, and/or to be successful in the workforce, earning a living wage immediately upon graduation. The School Finder only contains one portion of the UIP, each school's Priority Performance Challenges. To access any school's complete UIP, you can visit: School and District UIPs
