Newlon Elementary prides itself as a values-driven learning environment. We are a Transitional Native Language Instruction (TNLI) school where students whose first language is Spanish receive instruction that supports them in acquiring English-language skills. Newlon is strongly committed to developing our multi-lingual learners' skills to put them on the pathway to the DPS Seal of Biliteracy. Newlon is proud to serve an increasingly diverse community – there are five languages spoken within our school. Newlon is also proud to be a Discovery Link Learning Center, which happily serves students and families with 12 hours of after-school programming each week. Newlon was awarded "distinguished" status in 2024 for our success promoting a Transformational Social Emotional Learning. It is our second time being honored with this award.NEW! Beginning in 2024-25, Newlon will be the West Denver Newcomer Center. Our school will serve new-to-country students. This opportunity affirms our commitment to serving ALL students in the Denver community.
